As CLHQ became more knowledgable of the Cache Line energy pulses, they began discovering artifacts everywhere from deep, remote locations, to as near as right under our feet, so to speak, by tracing barely detectable energy signatures.
Only limited knowledge of artifacts discovered in our prime dimension is currently available, due to the revival and restructuring of the Organization (now CLHQ), when an increase of CLD energy prompted a renewed effort to study and harness the phenomenon, including that of transdimensional mechanics. It’s only with these artifacts that we can begin to grasp the mystery of the Cloud.
After intense research, the transdimensional materials that compose the artifacts can now be located in our prime reality by CLHQ, who collect and infuse these materials into modern objects which can be dispersed around the world safely within the context of geocaching. These new artifacts are what you can now hold in your hands - veiled as Geocoins and Pathtags.
Imprinted on the geocoin’s front face is a special relief depiction of a scene one might see through an inspirational Cloud Portal - a journey through all forms of terrain and experience - land, water, forest, civilization - and ultimately toward a mountaintop goal. The rear face of the geocoin contains a selection of code sets stamped on a replica of a Cloud Portal. Proper programming and orientation of the elements of a Cloud Portal gateway is required to decrypt energy readings. The artifacts provide a mobile way to translate commands, messages, encrypted instructions, codes, into meaningful results.
With the proper decoding of such sequences submitted to the CLHQ mainframe, the resulting data is collected for analysis. It’s unknown what might be found when certain pulses are properly decoded. So far CLHQ only detects pulses enough for the Treasure Troops to carry out their missions. So, as you receive pulse data, Line Guardians, be ready, as no one knows what may become unlocked upon submitting valid translation sequences.
Since CLHQ intercepts this transdimensional data transfer, they may occasionally disperse training exercises to the artifacts as pulse communications, and any Line Guardians who successfully decode them may also be awarded with perks and benefits of being an enlisted Guardian of Cache Line Artifacts! Therefore it is imperative that you remain attentive and ready to leap to work.
The geocoin artifacts themselves are physically designed, in every way shape and form, as typical collectible geocoins. They are trackable and collectible online, discoverable by fellow geocachers. But as implied, accomplish much more than simple coins.
Desireable aspects of geocaching have been shown to enhance various pulses detected via people’s Cache Lines. There are 4 known variants of these artifact "Fortitudes":
EARTH* has a silver metal transdimensional compound, representing the very ground we walk on, terrain on which geocaching takes place, as indicated by the “Geo” namesake of the activity itself.
LIFE has a copper metal transdimensional compound, and is representative of the desire to venture out into nature, see the sky, water, forest, fresh air, flora and fauna; the invigoration of a deep breath that gives life.
SENSE has a black nickel plating transdimensional compound with luminous highlights, and is representative of civilization, humanity, culture and society, of the skills and talents grown out of seeking and finding, thinking constructively, of resourcefulness and awareness. Geocachers may call it “geosense”.
QUEST has a gold plated metal transdimensional compound, and is representative of the desire and draw for adventure, discovery, self improvement, creativity, the thrill of success, the setting and completion of goals, challenges, and ultimately of overcoming, and attaining or obtaining that being sought.
* Note: Artifacts can sense and channel the power they detect through the CLD via the CLHQ mainframe. The single exception is the EARTH artifact which is considered by CLHQ at this time to be inert, due to CLHQ being unable yet to effectively manage its transdimensional properties. This means that submission of decoded pulses via this artifact will produce no tangible result. They are, for now, effectively what they are simply presented to be - collectible geocaching geocoins.
It takes a few steps to decode pulse data. What CLHQ believes to be encrypted data must be recorded and then decoded, but this data cannot be decoded alone. It typically requires a translation process making use of a related Glyph and Core.
The powered artifact variants may produce for their owners additional and tangible results. This may range from discovering decoding messages to locating rare collectibles and solving perplexing mysteries!
The CLHQ Artifact Cipher Tool is a tool provided for Line Guardians to submit decrypted data received by the artifact. Submissions to CLHQ will be tested directly with the mainframe's transdimensional network, and then to find out what happens...
That special tool is currently in development, to be launched soon.
