Cache line HQ is a fictional organization, the brainchild of Cache The Line and Geoff May, expanding the storyworld which began with the geocaching brand and Youtube channel, Cache The Line. There is no secret organization, or disbanded agents roaming the world covertly. There are no live "Treasure Troops" (but there are toys and swag). There is no mysterious realm of positive/smiley energy which could provide endless power that's being sought in our prime dimension. There is a prime dimension, however: you are in it, reading this - Reality.
Storyworld! Everything you see or read that is connected to the Cache Line Dimension is part of a fictional concept in which characters and stories and experiences can be crafted, enhanced by and enhancing the hobby of geocaching.
This parallel dimension is a concoction of ideas that came about by expanding on the logo and concept of the 'line of life' we travel through time, punctuated by geocache finds, cache to cache, and other smileys along the way. It's merely an idea of how such interwoven lives might appear, with a geocaching-themed touch.
Any reference to 'tracking' of created assets and collectibles through space and time is purely fictional. There are no transdimensional substances, no metaphysical mainframe. The geocoins are not tethered between dimensions, and the mounts that hold the coin assets are not infused with such transdimensional properties - they are hand-crafted wooden frames. No more, no less. They are wood, laser-etched and -cut, sanded, painted, glossed, and packaged. No form of any radio signals (intra-, inter-, nor trans-dimensional) emanate from any collected physical item provided by CLHQ.
The only tracking that occurs is based on digital logs posted to items that themselves are associated with a tracking code. Trackable items on geocaching.com are "tracked" by examining the log history posted to the trackable item's landing page. Trackable "Portal Imprints" likewise are only tracked by the logs and notes created for them by choice by individuals possessing them, cross-referenced by their implied locations.
CLHQ and the CLD are intended to highlight and provide fun and adventure, and tie in to a card game to be released soon. One might consider it an "ARG" (Alternate Reality Game) with a story that plays out in real time within the hobby of geocaching. (Find out more about ARGs here and here)
