CLD Research Timeline

Following is a condensed, summarized timeline of knowledge attained by agents in their observation and studies of all things related to the Cache Line Dimension:

CLHQ

2017

October: Cache The Line
• Geocaching videographer 'thebruce0' (Geoff May) launches Youtube channel and brand, Cache The Line, documenting adventures and highlighting memorable experiences caching his own 'line of life'.

2018

Christmas: Geovlogmas 1.0 (12 days)
(video playlist)
Summary: Tiny Tim makes himself known, and partners for Christmas geocaching adventures, posing a community geocaching challenge. Geoff buys what he believes is a Santa Hat.

2019

Christmas: Geovlogmas 2.0 (12 days)
(video playlist)
Summary: Tiny Tim and Geoff embark on another Christmas geocaching adventure, and hold another community challenge. A strange time synchronicity anomaly occurs on Day 7.

2020

Christmas: Geovlogmas 3.0 (12 days)
(video playlist)
Summary: A third Christmas geocaching adventure is vlogged, and Geoff discovers teleport abilities with his Santa Hat, which he's learned from Tiny Tim is a "Line Keeper's" hat, the same as Tiny Tim's. But he soon loses control of it and gets lost, separated from Tiny Tim. At the final hour Tiny Tim appears to save the day, sending Geoff home without the hat, while he returns to HQ with the hat.

2021

Christmas: Geovlogmas 4.0 (12 days)
(video playlist)
Summary: Sir Maximus arrives and connects with Geoff this year, setting a Christmas goal of finding and reviving lonely caches. After many DNFs together, Max appears increasingly weary. But, on his own apart from Geoff, he continues to find backup caches for additional revived energy. Nearly spent though, after a major DNF he teleports Geoff alone for one final lonely find attempt, then seems to fade away from existence. With Geoff stranded, he is saved unknowingly by Tiny Tim. Tim remains out of sight but has returned with a Line Keeper's Hat. Then inexplicably he teleports away and the hat is left, which then appears to get stolen.

2022

Christmas: Geopodmas 1.0 - The Treasure Troops (7 days)
• The Treasure Troops and Line Keepers are introduced. Each trooper has a story to tell. Cloud Portals are revealed: The gateway portal, observation/window portal, restock portal, and audio portal. CLHQ Tech is revealed: Navdiscs with a laser targeting system, emergency Cache Lines. The Keeper's Hat is now known to travel space and time.
(podcast playlist)
Summary: After returning to HQ at the end of Geovlogmas 3.0 with the hat Geoff was using, he learns that it's Sir Maximus's hat. Tiny Tim sets out on a mission to find Sir Maximus who is believed missing, helping troopers he crosses paths with during his travels. With Lily's expertise, he tries taking with him a tracking Navdisc linked back to HQ, and visits many high-amplitude energy signatures. After multiple failed searches, he then risks donning Sir Maximus's own hat, and travels to the distant past. He soon loses control, and gets lost in the Cloud. When all seemed lost, a Window Portal shows Tim the moment Max left his hat for Geoff to unwittingly attain, and learns that Max knew Tim could see him observing the event. After seeing Max's adventures with Geoff, Tim hear's Max speak to him through an Audio Portal and reveals this was his plan from day 1. He learns that Geoff's hat purchased in 2018 was Max's own Line Keeper Hat, and that Tiny Tim was in training to replace Max. Max had been gathering enormous energy to save Tim from the CLD with an emergency Cloud Line, before then fading away with a meaningful farewell. The troops soon arrived, 'surfing' Cache Lines, throwing Tim a specially rigged navdisc for him to return home. On return home, Tiny Tim earns and is given rank of Sir Tiny Tim, following in Max's place. He returns to the end of Geoff's previous adventure with Max, with his own old Line Keeper hat, and wearing his new (Max's old) hat, and easily returns Geoff to safety. On return to HQ (but leaving his old hat behind), he needs to choose a recruit, the trooper who manages to recover the hat he intentionally left behind. That trooper is an alien "Al", who recovered the hat which he could now return to Sir Tiny Tim - but instead it would become his own. Tim and Al continue to lead the Treasure Troops in their missions.

2023

July 11: Artifact crowdfunding launched, Slate glyph discovered
• CLHQ partners with Cache The Line in an effort to distribute Cache Line Artifacts to the geocaching public.
• The Nexus Cave is visited by Geoff to locate a Slate Glyph, and generate support for production of Cache Line Artifacts at Cache Line HQ. Interference from the CLD has an effect on the video media. (video)

July 18: Rose Core/Glyph decipher guide
• Rose Core decipher training/guide is provided. First accolade to be earned is announced with the Slate glyph and Rose core, for discovering a hidden Trackable item. (video)

August 4: Mainframe requires an upgrade to handle stress
• Cache Line Dimension boundary can stress under focused energy spikes, excessive pulses. CLHQ Mainframe maintains CL coupling zones for consistent transdimensional alignment. Watchdog outposts are scattered to monitor the mainframe's transdimensional cohesion. Aid is requested to enter partnership with Snag The Tag to create a new system for strengthening coupling zones. (video)
• Promotion is successful and CLHQ improves Watchdog outpost capabilities. Work begins to work with Snag The Tag to develop and roll out a new CLD technology. Timeline TBD.

August 14: Rose Core/Glyph encoding guide
• Rose Core encoding training/guide is provided. (video)

2024

January 28: Hazy fog, Species NULL observed
• CLHQ detects a form of hazy fog over energy readings in various regions of the CLD (reported by Tiny Tim under "An old friend!"). It's not actively harmful yet, though affects energy pulse amplitudes in bulk. Signature silhouette of a creature from the Cloud "Species NULL" is discovered, appearing during Artifact Mount fabrication.

June 12: CLD Energy pulse drops detected
• Singular pulse amplitudes drop from expected levels in anomalies detected periodically within the CLD.

June 14: Martians know of CLD energy
• Martians are discovered harnessing the positive power of geocache Finds, draining power being studied in the CLD. Geocaching HQ partners with aliens to increase quantity of smileys earned in geocaching which they learn fuels and powers the aliens' ship to help them launch from earth. "Cosmic Quest" souvenir promotion launched.

July 3: Noise in the Cloud, P10 accolades
• Muffled energy readings again detected in the CLD, like a thick blanket, an eclipse shadowing over larger regions of energy pulses. (Tiny Tim updates under "Noise in the Cloud")
P10 accolades announced at CLHQ to help calibrate transdimensional precision targeting algorithms.

July 27: Prototype Insta-Imprint launched at MWGB, with NULL interference
• Midwest Geobash mega event takes place in Ohio, and a prototype Insta-Imprint variant is distributed. Species NULL once again affects CLD mainframe functions and some Insta-Imprints are 'photobombed' with the nuisance creature's silhouette.

August 17: Portal Tracker Imprints launched for new TB Race, with NULL interference
• Discover L&A mega event takes place in Ontario, and new Portal Tracker Imprint variants are distributed. Team Linus and Team Gustov tracker TBs launch on Sept 14th in a TB race. Many Portal Tracker tokens in one place cause a new disturbance against the CLD, and Species NULL is able to disrupt a handful of tracker tokens which go missing. CLHQ is able to detect their locations, distribute the coordinates, and have them retrieved. They remain as Portal Trackers for Species NULL.

September 14: Trandimensional Rifing incidents, new Insta-Imprints
• GHAGAFAP picnic event takes place in Ontario, and Portal Tracker TBs are distributed. All the activity and CLD tech in one close proximity causes stress points in the local CLD mainframe. An Adventure Lab is generated to have attendees help to strengthen the transdimensional boundary by identifying the energy signature of the 5 stress zones using the cipher coin Artifacts. Insta-Imprints are also provided as a thank you from CLHQ for helping deter any transdimensional rifting. Some Insta-Imprints produced a primitive smiley image, while once again some were affected by Species NULL. Additionally, more Portal Trackers were affected by Species NULL, and their determined locations were sent for retrieval.
For reference, see post-event article posted Sept 24.

September 29: Mainframe rift incidents documented, Lily discovers new anomaly
Research notes from Sir Tiny Tim detail findings from the transdimensional rifting incident, how memories from significant Cache Lines were 'broadcasting' at stress points in the mainframe, and these memories could be analyzed to determine an energy signature needed to counter the weakened area and bolster the mainframe back to normal readings.
Field journal entry from Lily reveals a new discovery in the cloud - a small fog-like ball of blue haze with wispy tendrils, with an apparent attraction to her location. She managed to exit the CLD without incident.

November 11: Treasure Troops recruit "Arch Team" archeology specialist pair
CLHQ approves Iowa Jones and Louisianna Rose as new recruits to head exploratory missions deeper into the CLD, to help the organization better understand the nature of the Cloud and discover potential risks and dangers, if they exist.

2025

March 16: Arch Team makes discovery about possible alternative dimensions
• Arch Team reports back about a recent exploratory mission during which they discovered a stashed sack of belongings, and a WANTED poster nearby. The poster had a depiction of a hooded figure with the name "Robin Hood" scrawled on it. The two believe the Cloud had taken them deep into Sherwood Forest.
• Additional study of previously waived oddities encountered during prior missions imply there may be more to the nature of Cache Lines than thought, including a possibility of connecting to parallel dimensions, which themselves may also generate CLD energy.

April 30: CLHQ unveils discovery about matter traversing the CLD
• Further progress is announced in study of CLD energy variants - Fortitudes - after residual energy was detected in some swag items collected by Arch Team.
• Some matter has shown remnant detection of CLD energy, associated with possible alternate dimensions, parallel to our own Prime Dimension - including the existence of believed to be fictional individuals.
• CLHQ catalogues items retrieved by Arch Team, recording their residual Fortitude energy and any possible archaeological significance, such as the potential of other realities and cultures, and other undetermined attributes.
