A ripple of scientific curiosity is sweeping through the geocaching world this month, as the transdimensional archaeology team known as Arch Team, during a cross-dimensional expedition in pursuit of anomalous geocache energy signatures, reported the curious discovery of a new hybrid lifeform from a portal destination: Labeled the Flamingosaur — part dinosaur, part flamingo, and entirely unexpected.
The team, known for its daring missions into unexplored parallel dimensions in search of geocaches that give off rare, reality-crossing energy, stumbled upon the first Flamingosaur DNA samples during an expedition into a lush, pastel-toned destination. The creatures themselves, while elusive, appear to be small, colorful, and surprisingly whimsical—though their DNA has a habit of trying to recombine with itself in ways science has never quite seen before.
"Imagine puzzle pieces that don't just fit together—they want to fit together," said Dr. Asha Velin, lead xenobiologist for EchoCache. "When multiple DNA samples get close, they actually pull toward each other and morph into entirely new forms. It's kind of adorable—and also kind of a mystery."
In a twist straight out of speculative fiction, Arch Team has detected a growth in trace energy readings converging near Wauseon, Ohio, where a major geocaching event scheduled for the week of July 26th is about to take place. While there's no sign of actual creatures crossing over (yet), the possibility of a dimensional rift event—sparked by the sudden massive increase in CLD energy in close proximity — is being monitored closely.
"It's probably nothing," laughed Lou Rose of Arch Team, "but if a tiny pink dinosaur with sparkly feathers wanders onto the logbook table, we'll know why."
Back at CLHQ (Cache Line Headquarters), reactions have been mixed. Some agents are intrigued by the Flamingosaur's potential, while others raise gentle eyebrows at the idea of self-merging creature DNA sneaking into our reality.
"Most of them are really quite cute," said Sgt Green, a veteran Treasure Troop at CLHQ. "But that might just be the flamingo side showing. We haven't seen what happens when the dinosaur half takes the wheel."
To be safe, CLHQ agents are coordinating with Arch team to develop harmless dimensional stabilizers to dampen any potential transdimensional rifting.
Attendees will be surrounded by jurassic-themed fun during the Midwest Geobash Block Party event, and while encouraged to enjoy the event fully, one may occasionally feel a sense of a pinkish glow, hear a faint humming, or experience an unusual draw towards anything flamingo or dinosaur. But most importantly, if anyone stumbles upon anything appearing to strangely rearrange their own contents, do not approach. The stabilizers will kick in momentarily.
As Arch Team wraps up their latest report, Lou's partner Iowa Jones offers this reminder with a grin:
"We don't believe the Flamingosaur to be of any danger, but we don’t yet understand what it wants to become. Just... maybe don't feed it any trail mix."
KNOWN FLAMINGOSAUR SPECIES:
In an effort to dampen any potential transdimensional rifting, special cards are being made available for distribution to stabilize the CLD mainframe around Wauseon, Ohio over the course of the upcoming Midwest Geobash Block Party.
Flamingosaur DNA Booster Packs, cards for the Cache Hunters TCG, are now available in the Shop.
Arch Team is a pair of CLHQ Agents tasked with archaeological exploration of the farther reaches of the CLD, with the intentional focus on locating oddities and seeking out potential risks and dangers that might face the Treasure Troops while they carry out their own missions.
The two agents as of this writing are Iowa Jones and Louisianna Rose, a couple who have adventured and explored extensively together in their passion for archeological discoveries.
