CLHQ is proud to share an uplifting field report from Arch Team operatives Iowa and Lou, whose recent 'down time' geocaching excursion has led to a breakthrough in harnessing positive CLD (Cache Line Dimension, "Cloud") energy.
Following a restful day of geocaching on April 1st - marked by a lighthearted prank involving local gnomes, playful flamingoes, and a cooperative envoy from the Gatorverse - the team encountered an unexpected discovery: a solitary cocoon resting near an active geocache site.
Recognizing both its fragility and symbolic potential, Arch Team initiated an odd request for CLHQ to study butterfly cocoons as a latent source of Cloud energy. Their hypothesis: that simple, shared experiences of wonder - such as observing the transformation of a monarch butterfly - could measurably bolster positive dimensional energy.
With the upcoming ASP Geobash Mega Event in May 2026 embracing a monarch butterfly theme, CLHQ identified a unique opportunity to test this theory at scale.
The findings exceeded expectations, leading to high anticipation for the upcoming event.
CLHQ researchers confirmed a significant increase in positive Cloud energy levels when geocachers positively engaged with monarch butterflies to varying degrees - particularly when tied to real-world observation, conservation, and storytelling. This surge presents a promising counterforce against the persistent transdimensional threat known as "The Blue."
In response, CLHQ - partnering with ASP Geobash - has commissioned its first official illustrator to collaborate and help translate this energy into a tangible tool for both players and collectors.
Renowned designer Chris Mackey of Aura Design Group, celebrated for his work on 2026 ASP Geobash pathtags, flashtags, and geocoins, has created 14 stunning collectible cards for the new Cache Hunters: Migrating Monarchs Set (with 1 of the 14 only obtainable by attending the mega event).
These cards allow participants to:
Completing card objectives rewards players with in-game benefits, and collecting the cards - each with shimmering, beautiful illustrations - contributes to the growing network of real-world Cloud energy amplification that Cache Hunters seeks to elevate.
To commemorate this milestone, CLHQ is also releasing exclusive holofoil art prints featuring three beautifully rendered adult monarch variants, marking the debut of CLHQ’s first official illustrator series, from Chris Mackey.
The Migrating Monarch Set and collectibles are available now through the CLHQ Shop.
This initiative began with a single cocoon - and a moment of curiosity.
As Iowa and Lou remind us: "Even the smallest discovery can carry immense power - if we choose to protect it."
The implications reach far beyond geocaching. The monarch’s journey is not only one of transformation, but of resilience, connection, and hope.
Next time you're geocaching and you spot a butterfly cocoon, pause. Protect it.
Because what it becomes might one day help protect us all.
Save the butterflies. One day, they might save us.

Arch Team is a pair of CLHQ Agents tasked with archaeological exploration of the farther reaches of the CLD, with the intentional focus on locating oddities and seeking out potential risks and dangers that might face the Treasure Troops while they carry out their own missions.
The two agents as of this writing are Iowa Jones and Louisianna Rose, a couple who have adventured and explored extensively together in their passion for archeological discoveries.
