Press release: Charity fundraiser brings hope, CLHQ partners with commemorative cards

The Podcast of Hope is hosted annually by the Geocache Talk Network in early December, to raise funds with the geocaching community to support research against childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Purchase these commemorative, rare and unique cards, with all proceeds donated to this charity!

These are the first commemorative fundraiser cards in Cache Hunters, available in three variants as the FIRST foil-faced cards! The holo, silver, and gold variants increase in difficulty and reward. With a fundraiser card in play, every player works together to reach the shared goal, and once met, together you can choose to strengthen everyone's game, or fight back against the Blue directly!

About each card:

Each of the collectible fundraiser events are are:

  • Trackable on geocaching.com with a unique tracking code
  • Uniquely numbered for each card print
  • The FIRST foil-faced cards in the Cache Hunters TCG catalogue
  • Delivered double-protected enclosed in a hard top-loader sleeve

Inspired by and partnering with the Podcast of Hope, all proceeds raised from the sales of these cards are donated directly to the charity towards their annual goal.

Questions and answers...

When does the Podcast of Hope fundraiser event take place?
The Geocache Talk Network hosts the Podcast of Hope annually, and this year it took place on December 6th, for 7 hours from 5pm-12am Eastern. streamed live on Youtube. Find out the schedule in this lineup reveal show.
Will these cards be available after the fundraiser ends?
These limited edition cards will ONLY be available for ordering up to the end of the event, and no more of these cards will be made. Ever. Don't miss out!
Where do the donated funds raised from these cards go?
Funds are donated to the Podcast of Hope charity, run by the Geocache Talk Network. You can find more details about the raising and destination of funds at PodcastOfHope.com, which is hosted by the charity fundraising platform Tiltify.
When will the cards be shipped?
Once the fundraiser event ends, orders will be tallied, trackable codes will be applied to every individual card, the production will be submitted, and in ideal circumstances the cards should be shipped to your door within a month. If you are an optimist - potentially before Christmas. No guarantees can be made, but that is a solid estimate.
I want to keep and collect these cards, but they're also playable in Cache Hunters. How do I keep them in good condition if they're used in the play decks?
As with some other more highly valued cards that can be stored in harder shell or toploader sleeves, it is possible to 'swap' a standard placeholder card for the special card if it comes up during play.

For one example, the Geocacher Prestige cards, comes with a standard non-foil version of the card for use in the game, and when in play it can either be swapped for the foil card or used as is.

In the case of the holofoil "Fundraiser", there is a general Fundraiser card in the base game which, while in play, can be swapped for the special holofoil version if owned, and swapped back when done.

If you own a collection of cards and you like to play with them, how you store and protect them is entirely up to you! Some may store every card in a loose sleeve, others may keep all their cards as is.

The general rule is this: If you have an identical card or one that indicates it can be swapped which is stored in a different manner than within your play decks, you can swap it as desired.
