The hills have monarchs... the swarm is coming!
Have you ever spied a monarch up close and personal while geocaching? Or come across a cocoon, at some stage of development from caterpillar to butterfly? Well now, in partnership with ASP Geobash, you can! At least, in Cache Hunters - where geocaching meets the tabletop as a trading card game!
In a special and milestone first for Cache Hunters, CLHQ is unleashing this collectible theme set highlighting the illustrative work of well known and renowned geocoin designer:
CHRIS MACKEY!
Chris designed the official Pathtags and Flashtags for ASP Geobash, along with the event's very unique geocoins - and also all the cards here in this Monarch themed Mega event set!

The set of ASP Geobash Migrating Monarch cards includes:- 4x Butterfly Metamorph stage cards based on the official Flashtag set
- 3x Adult Monarch Traveller cards, 3 different colours, based on the official Geocoins
- 5x Monarch Diet cards based on the official Pathtag set

Are the illustrations done by Chris Mackey?
Chris worked with the ASP Geobash committee to design the official coins and tags for the 2026 mega event, and adapted the same original artwork to create a brand new, unique visual esthetic for the monarch themed Cache Hunters cards. Each card was illustrated individually by Chris Mackey for collecting and gameplay.
What do butterflies have to do with geocaching?
It was discovered that the curiosity and joys reported from finding such rare entities in and around geocache sites had a positive influence on the CLD energy matrix. For this reason, Cache Line HQ decided, after Arch Team's prompting and recommendation from internal agents specializing in biological studies of CLD energy, to catalogue these findings in the hopes that the cards would continue the positive trend as a deterrent against the Blue.
How do I play with these cards?
The Cache Hunters base game is on the cusp of release, and these, along with all the cards available in the shop, are expansion cards to enhance the gameplay once released. Until that time, they are highly collectible and you can begin to imagine the types of adventures you'll be able to embark on with your team of adventurers, the more cards you have in your repository.
