Treasure Troops fight the Blue with commissioning of the Cinegnomes

Our world only remains safe as long as the Blue is kept at bay. CLHQ's latest mission launches a new team of Treasure Troops to capture geocaching inspiration on film to help boost and spread joy.

Deep through the shimmering folds of the Cache Line Dimension, a tiny but tireless miniature film crew travels and explores the lines formed by life: they are the Cinegnomes.

Eighteen enthusiastic palm-sized garden gnomes make up this spirited corps of filmmakers — a proud division within the team at Cache Line HQ known as the Treasure Troops. Their calling may be small in stature, but it's significant in value: they journey from geocache to geocache, location to location, crossing through portals traversing our world, seeking out hidden stories, bits of magic, and sparks of inspiration buried in the experiences surrounding the world’s geocaches.

Their cameras and equipment capture every moment of discovery, joy, and connection they are focused on. Each geocache they visit can become a backdrop; every log entry contributing to a script. They document adventures everywhere, weaving moments into short gnomeish films that celebrate the spirit of exploration, discovery, and wonder.

But their quest is not just for art — it’s for balance.

Through the Cache Line Dimension, smiles and frowns carry weight. While positivity and creativity generate a golden, humming energy that permeates the "Cloud", negativity and despair condense into a ghostly phenomenon known as “the Blue.” This cold, creeping mist spreads like a thick flood, dulls imagination, and can drain entire regions of joy if left unchecked.

CLHQ, after studying years of the Geocaching International Film Festival, where geocachers share their uplifting and creative stories in film form, has confirmed something extraordinary: every time a film sparked laughter, hope, or camaraderie, readings of positive energy in the Cloud spiked dramatically. The Cinegnomes took this as a sign.

Now, during the Film Festival season of 2025, they have been officially commissioned to head out and journey the geocaching trails, tracking joy wherever it may be found — generating, from real human joy, another energy radiant and strong enough to keep the Blue at bay.

They are storytellers. Explorers.
Guardians of cheer.
And every frame they capture brings a little more smile to the world, and a little less Blue.

About the Treasure Troops

The Treasure Troops is a small corps of specialized toys recruited to help boost energy in the CLD by improving the quality of experience enjoyed by people finding geocaches. The troops target geocaches that have a shortage of swag within the container, transporting via Cloud Portals through the CLD along cache lines to the destination target, then find the geocache and call in a selection of swag from back at CLHQ. They depart the scene swiftly before the target geocache is found again by a geocacher.

Increased swag has shown to boost the positive energy emitted within the CLD by the geocacher; especially in younger children who are prone to see things in geocaches as treasure. The Treasure Troops take pride in their missions to improve the geocaching experience for finders.

The Treasure Troops are led by the head Line Keeper, Sir Tiny Tim.
